Horses
We have 4 horses that live at Double V.
Dave’s two cow horses Kitt and Doc. Kitt is a gentle natured Appaloosa. His a large horse with a big heart and is the type of horse to let kids brush and care for. He is also a valuable ranch horse, as he is steady with a rope and other chores.
Doc is a sorrel QH. He is quite quick on his feet despite his large size. He is great at cutting out cattle and has been very steady even when facing angry bulls.
Trudy’s horses are Smokey and Mariah. Smokey is also an Appaloosa and is the “old guy” of the place, although he hardly lets that slow him down. He was Trudy’s eventing horse for several years and is a talented jumper. He is pretty patient with allowing newbies to ride him and he is incredibly steady and has done a little bit of about everything in his life. He somewhat known for being a “one person horse” though.
Mariah is a beautiful Paint mare. She has a lovely temperment and is nicely built. She is nice horse to ride and would make a wonderful eventing horse. Due to our busy schedules now, she is mostly a farm or trail horse.
